huh? plug chop?
Your running an aftermarket pipe and no lid, you need to learn jetting before you look at your bike again or it will get expensive. There are lots of faqs, stickeys and posts on jetting. If you don't want to take the time to become a JET-I master, buy and EGT and learn to use it.
OK... its got a 310 jet in it.....I doesn't matter what jet(s) some clown at Toomey thru in the box. Its what your bike needs. toss that plug, get a fresh one and learn how to jet.
hmmm OK ill try that this evening when i get a new plug. thanksdefinitely put in a fresh plug and then do a chop
warm up the bike with an old plug, then put in the fresh one, get the bike into 4th or 5th gear and run it WOT for 3-4 seconds, hit the killswitch, pull in the clutch and roll to a stop, then pull out the plug and take a peek.
should have a nice cardboard brown on the porcelain
your not a dick dude. LOl i spent alot of time searching, and its hard to narrow down the search query when it doesnt recognize a phrase search, just keyword. i looked for like 4 hours..hahahaNot tryin to be a dick but dude you need to read! there is so much information on here. All you have to do is look and learn. None of us are in your driveway with you so our guesses are stabs in the dark. yes they are edjucated guesses but still guesses.
TORS is deleted, ebrake?? what ebrake? hahahaha.. i got front brakes and thats it. no rear caliper or hardware whatsoever, no cable comming from bottom of brake lever eitherthat plug chop looks lean. I was runnin a 330 with that set up. good work man def getting it narrowed down. what about your tors and ebrake, are they elemenated. sorry bein lazy, don't want to scroll through the whole long ass tread
someone else chime in but any chance his float level is off?
OK so..... I did some work. did a compression and leakdown test, both were good. 135 compression, leakdown was good no air leakage at all.
took carb apart and cleaned it. Main jet is a 310, pilot is prolly stock. Also checked reeds, one side was not laying flat (not major, just a little bit) so i turned them upside down to get them to lay flat.
It's REALLY boggy on low end, once i get RPM's up it TAKES OFF like hell...
So wtf?!?!?!
new plug after plug chop --->
Reeds -->
Main jet and bottom of carb --->
having a hard time getting the video uploaded, im working on it. HELP HELP HELP!!!!!
Please somebody tell me whats going on before i trash this thing.
fuel mix wrong maybe?
The plug looks a bit lean, for my taste i'd jump up a size or two.( not the problem though).
I would also get a new set of reeds and clean the reed cage (remove all the deposits on it).
If it runs good when the tank is full and then when it's low, starts to starve, I'd have to say your petcock may be clogged on the reserve side, or the screen is dirty. I just replaced mine with a banshee one new $25 ebay.
As the Godfather said- take the fuel line off the carb turn on reserve -Steady flow? If not there is your problem, if flow is good, turn it to "ON" and see if you have steady flow, if so petcock is good, then we move down to the carb, clean with carb cleaner every crevice, everyn piece then blow out with compressed air if ya have it. Increase the pilot jet two sizes, check to see where the clip is at on the needle also what needle you have in there. where the air screw is at {EX: 1-1/2 turns out} Report findings... -Bob
