the little pieces, they look like theyre meant to adjust something, they hang off of where the axle and carrier meet.... theres one for each side of the carrier... the one on the sprocket side (left i believe) is bent into my sprocket... wondering what this part is called so i can get a new one and replace it

They are carrier adjusters, the allow you to position the carrier so that the chain meets the sprocket at 90deg. They also are used to adjust the chain tension.

Correct name for them is chain tensioners.

I cant believe that I typed that!

they're not bad at all, you just need to remove the bottom bolt on the carrier, install the new adjusters, then adjust the chain.

you'll need a 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, and a 17mm to get it done
