Help needed

Can barely make it up a 3 inch hill climb balls 2 the walls , rolling start it moves slower than my old lt 230 , my old blaster wouldnt crack band unless it was 3 1/2 turns out , but it was snappy my new one won't stay down pulling 1st second into third I can't steer if I get on it , 1/4 throttle to full , 1/4 to keep running

That thing sounds really rich in the vid. Is the air filter clean? If this thing is all stock sounds like it has a huge main jet in it. Pull the plug and look at it and see what it looks like.

230 is a stock main. You might try to 250 just to see if anything changes. I'd get a 230 and put in it and see what that does no matter what.

well the stock carb setting should be 230 main jet, needle set at 2nd clip from the top, 1 1/2 turns out on the air screw. i would throw that 250 jet in see if that helps. take the airfilter cover off to.

After buying a rebuild kit for my carb, I saw the new main jet was stamped on the side,
insted of on the top. But while ordering i picked up a oem larger jet that was stamped
on the top. so if no stamp your carb might have been molested.

give it a good going over.

I have a bunch of jets and some are stamped on the bottom, some on the side.

I've been having issues with mine too, and just throwing in a new pilot jet helped a lot. I cleaned the old one out, and could see through it, but not as well as i could see through the fresh one.

Good luck!

Also, if you're on a budget and the bike is not holding compression, and if you can afford a top end gasket kit and some rings, you could just throw new rings on there if the piston and cylinder aren't bad. Rings usually wear out before the actual piston/cylinder do. Have the cylinder honed though, which just makes new scratches for the rings to seat with. A local dealership honed my cylinder for 5 bucks. Rings were like 30 (damn factory yamaha parts!!) and I got a gasket kit for probably 30 as well.
