Engine wont run right

okay i know its not a blaster but no ones else on the internet is any help at all when it comes to theres questions. I gota 99 rm 250 just rebuilt top end it was running good then it bogged down like the plug was fouled and died. Now it will kick start but only run for about 20 seconds and die. What can this be?

Timing is off? Maybe reeds?

Cleann the carb thouroughly, check reeds while your at it, and check back.

their V force reeds. there tight againist the cage but you can see light thru the tiny holes

I went out in my shed and the bike kicked over first kick and held an idle it idles for about a minute then i shut it off and it wouldnt start again

sounds like a fuel delivery or carb problem to me,
have you tried a few new plugs ?

i personally would start with compression test/leak down, clean the carb inside and out top to bottom and i would think u find your problem right there?

no. its a fuel delivery prob or a spark prob.

you need and volt/ohms meter to check coil output, stator output. check the simplest first, your fuel.

Pull the hose off the petcock to see if you have a good supply of fuel, and work downward from there.
