Hey guys, I just picked up a 04 ktm 125 for 500 bucks. Guy blew it up about 4 years ago and the bikes been sitting since. He has all the parts to rebuild the entire motor, complete top and bottom end, everything. I basically paid for all the new parts. Now my question is, ive never owned a ktm...Are they a good bike? Anything i should know about them? Thanks!

ktm is one of the most reliable bikes I would say, I've seen people put them through things no bike should ever be able to withstand, I'm sure if Best sees this thread he can teach you a thing or two about ktm's :p

Yup, I have driven all the rest and figure KTM is the best...
I have a 2000 KTM125EXC I have been riding since 2001 both on street and trail.
I have a 2003 KTM300EXC too and still would not part with the 125.

They are almost as cheap as a Blaster to rebuild. $300 to plate a cylinder, $100 for a piston and $250 for a crank.
Rarely have problems with the gearboxes, shocks are cheap to rebuild, $200 does them all, power is awesome.

Would you believe I am the oldest guy in this picture? ^^^^

Rims, seats, tanks and even engine get swapped back and forth as I see fit. Huge interchagability between years and models 125-380.

Note signal lights, rear tank, oversize front tank, highway oreiented dual purpose tires. 75-80 mph speeds easily.

yep KTM's are fairly rare cause no one wants to part with them cause there so great just like YZ125-250's for the most part and like best there pretty cheap to fix a lot of the time.
