Vito's 240 bbk, port/polish, .20 off head, power reeds, dg exhaust will be getting fmf, open filter no box, twist throttle. Was thinking a 34 but wanna be sure and what general jet size to use, live in pa. Will be riding trail and wide open.

Forget bolting up the DG it will do very little if any with the ported big bore.

What breed of carb are you looking at.

If you are intending to run long periods at WOT make sure that you jet on the rich side and use at least 25:1 premix, preferably Castor bean oil.

The best choices for a BB carb are the Mikuni TM or TMX 34mm or Keihn PWK or air striker 35 mm. As Blaaster stated, forget the DG pipe and the FMF isn’t the best choice either. Look for a high volume pipe like the Vito’s Fat Bastard or CPI. Both of these pipes are made for the 240. Nothing wrong with Castor oil as long as you don’t run it in temps below 32 degrees F. It will separate from the fuel.

The stock 26mm Mikuni works pretty good, but to get the most out of the Toomey B1 header, especially up top, a larger carb will make some noticeable difference.
