smoke from the head!

my head is leaking exhaust fumes wen i rev it up ive never noticed it but is it normal? i know i have good compression it always starts right up with out giving it gas no choke nuthn ... but idk y it does this and im starting to get worried for my baby

are you sure it's the head?

or is it coming from where the head pipe meets the silencer??
mine did it before...
I thought it was the head at first but it was the exhaust

its been doing it for a week or 2 and it comes from up high like all around where the head gasket goes even on the sides im pretty sure it is but i dont understand y it wud do that

mine was leaking out st the head to cylinder joint last week and all i did to fix it was go through and check the torque on my head bolts
one was loosened a lil letting it leak

wudnt the loose bolt give it bad compression or sumthn... but if u fix it like that then that shud b it

it will cause an air leak causing it to run funny and eventually causing the top end to need rebuilt

hey happy to help out
and if you do fry your top end its a good excuse to get it ported
i would check and see if the bolts are tight and make sure after you tighten to check for smoke still coming out
if there is still some leakage, go buy yourself a head gasket from yamaha for 10 bucks
torque on the head bolts is 20 ft lbs

yeah, its either the head is letting air getting through because its loose, or the gasket is done. i had the same problem, i got like a half a turn on the wrench on each nut. then there was no more smoke and ran normal again.
