nothing special, completely stock except for filter and oil injection delete. i have never drove a unported blaster with a stock exhaust before, until now..it is slow!

So I got a call about the blaster today.they were driving down the road and it lost power and died. So I brought it home leak teted it and it passed I continued to disassemble it and I found this..

HOLY! This was one of the eBay kits right? Piston literally melted away. Did you perform the correct heat cycle, plug chop prior to running the bike?

yes its the cheap ebay kit. and yes i performed heat cycles and retorqued base and head studs. then leak tested. i did not plug chop just dropped in a 270 main. it is stock except for oil injection block off, filter, and no air box cover so i figured the 270 was plenty rich.

Problem is that just dropping in a jet that one figures will be ok, is no substitute for a plug chop.

That piston shows classic symptoms of a mix on the wrong side of lean!

it is still on its first tank of fuel. and have not went past 3/4 throttle. so the main jet size has no affect.
