Yes they can be saved with some work. Personally, i would stray away from brazing and get it TIG welded. Now to find where that chunk of aluminum came from !

TIG will beat brazing for strength for sure, but if price is a concern, Brazing will work. If that chunk of metal is from the case need to look into why, and repair that as well.

There looks like a lot of side clearance in the rod end, it sure looks like more than 0.7mm or the pic is misleading.

Yes there is way more .07 prolly 2 mm lol I'm goin vitos with the cran
Mr bean are all the screws out?? Tap with a mallet it should pop off the dowels
Maybe where ur caught

That may be the cause of your problems if there is 2mm clearance as it may have contacted the case walls and broke off that chunk causing the issue you now have.

Most likely....I gotta finish pulling crank and trans....I paid 200 bucks for the quad
So I gotta deal now time to get to work....ill post updates often ..thanks for the info

my friends case cracked like that and we had it welded back together, just get sombody that knows what they are doing, and take the crank too so they can put it in and make sure its not going to hit the spot, the guy that welded ours did a really good job and charged us i think 40 bucks, you cant even buy a used case that cheap.
