Well I just picked up a 04 ymaha blaster. no mods stock. It was running excellent this morning at the track and all of the sudden, heading into the turn it bogged out hard and wouldnt start. I let sit for about an hour and pulled the choke out, and it started farely easy. however as soon as you give it throttle it bogs out and cuts of . Any Ideas..

I saw the tors diy so i removed my front plactics and could not find it, and I wasnt sure if that was done on an older bike.

Mine had exactly the symptoms a month after i got mine. It was in fact the tors. All years have the tors. Check your carb to see if wires coming out are plugged in. Under the plastic hood should be 3 small boxes. One cdi one headlight thing the other the tors.

Im gonna go take a pic of m bike under the front plastics ... And maybe some1 can show me which box it is ... its not like the one in the diy

Would be a good idea. Someone on this forum took theirs to the dealership paid too much all to find the tors was bad. Also how long was it running good before it died?

it was probally only about 15 20 mins tops.. i wasnt going hard either . i was jsut cruising really

Well you see the white connectors there? Is there one with 3 wires in a triangle shape? That I know goes to the tors follow that.

Well im looking for the tors . Its an 04 blaster . im not sure where the tors box is . maybe its already been removed. ?

03 and up are different , tors is part of something else,no brain to unplug
im sure somebody will chime in that has a newer blasty. but you cant remove it the same way as the diy

there are 3 white connectors. 2 of them have 2 wires and the 3rd has 4 wires . there is also a black connector with 2 wires.

Found this in another thread. About the only answer I could find for 03+. "since your wire harness is in new condition you could try just unplugging the carb wires, unplugg the parking brake and unplug the throttle switch. If it doesn't start try taking a small piece of wire and looping your throttle switch on the cdi box end. If that works we have our answer that those 3 switches need to be unplugged and than the throttle switch being looped. This will also tell me if i have a bad coil or regulator because above is how my wires are set up. if you try this make sure you warm your quad up good and take a little spin on it to test it. if you have any problems make sure your small piece of wire didn't come loose. otherwise if there are any other problems just hook your wires back up for now and let me know." Mine wont even start. But i read in another forum that you need to jump both the throttle wire and the tors wire on top of the carb.

this is wat u gotta do... 03 plus i had to do was this... there is no brain... so unplug both out of the carb box, then up front unplug the one in the throttle box near your throttle... and also ur ebrake spot has another wire for tors. with ur front plastics off u can see the 2 up front comin from the throttle box and ebrake area and then u can see the 2 plastic connectors where they connect. simply unplug them for now along with the 2 on the carb. bike should be allset but if its not this is wat u have to do... i cant remember which one but i think its the one on the throttle box connect the wires together... wat i did that was easy was where the plastic connector is under the plastic up front for the wire out of the throttlebox i removed the plastic piece on it and there r 2 wires with metal pieces on them and i just connected the 2 metal peices together and completed the circuit. u r now all set... u should have the 2 wires connected for a circuit up front and the ebrake one simply unplugged and then the 2 on the carb unplugged. thats it any questions let me know it took me like 2 months to figure that out now it runs like a champ.

Hey well I took to a local shop. not a yamaha shop just a run of the mill dirtbike shop. First thing the guy said to me was probally top end, it has no compression. It will start and you have to kick it hard. Well he said its probally jsut running on one ring. Didnt think to tell him that I just finished rebuilding the top end about a month ago
