Won’t shift gears

So my 92 starts, but when you try to shift into first(or even second) from neutral, it seems to shift; you can hear a click, but when you rock the quad it clicks back to neutral. Yamaha support says it’s the clutch star? Is there anyway to fix this without splitting the case? Could I adjust it somehow? Let me know what you guys think
