Since I cracked my shin snowmobiling a couple years ago(it was NOT a fun experience), I've been a firm believer in knee/shin guards for riding pretty much anything. I have one pair by Icon for the streetbike and snowmobile (Field Armor), which are very comfortable and light/low profile, but I'd like to get something a little more "heavy duty" for the dirt also. So far the couple MX style guards I've tried I found to be very uncomfortable. I tried an older version of the Thor Force guards and didn't like them at all. Clunky, uncomfortable, chafed like crazy. Tried the Fox titan pro, the knee hinge broke the first time I kneeled down....lot of help they'd be in a crash.
Any suggestions here? Anybody try guards designed for mountain biking? I've now bought (and resold on ebay for a fraction of what I paid) three sets of pads, want to find something that's decent before wasting more money.
