Stuck in 3rd gear

I just finished rebuilding the top-end and took it out to break it in. Everything was going great, shifting through all gears with no issues. After a short cool down I took it out again and shifted up into 3rd gear and then it would not shift out al all. The shifter will not move at all, not even a little bit. Running or not, clutch or no clutch. Im not new to mechanics or bikes for that matter, but this is only the 2nd blaster that I have messed with. And I figured I would search and I really didnt find any clear cut answers or suggestions. Any advice would really be appreciated?

id say a bent fork is a possibility....only real way to find out is to tear it apart...

i would take it apart again and make sure its all still together, not sure of the exact problem

sounds like a shift fork problem too.


if you have a clymer manual its not hard at all to do it

Have you checked your transmission fluid level? Blasters are real funny about shifting dry with no fluid!

brandoz, Ill check out a clymer manual. I have the factory manual, but sometimes they dont go into enough detail.

ahlers, I made sure that the fluid was correct. But thanks for the heads up.

I know I have to tear it apart to see what is going on. Its just finding the time!
Im actually trying to sell it. I have this one thats stuck in gear and another one with a ton of parts and another engine. Im getting rid of the whole lot.

the factory manual is sufficient if you pay attention to how it comes apart
