I bought a basket case Blaster for cheap and noticed that the cylinder has steel tubes between the fins instead of the rubber spacer thingys that I am used to seeing. Not that it makes any difference, but was just curious if anybody knows if it's a year thing or what. It's a OEM Yamaha cylinder.

You sure its a stock cylinder? Not alot of stock cylinders have been sand blasted. I would check to make sure its not a 240 cylinder, that come in that finish. Check out this video and check if its stock or 240 kit

I wish it was an aftermarket cylinder, but unfortunately it's not. The bore measures 67mm.

I have an 89 and it doesn't have the tubes like that, so it must be 88 only. This cylinder came off a much newer Blaster, so somebody must have swapped it. Doesn't matter. It was just a curiousity thing.
