homemade/low cost trailblazing equip?

Gonna be making some woods trails saturday morning and was wondering what sort of devices u guys use. I am gonna be pulling a piece of square tubing with long bolts sticking out of it, and whacking away with some shovels and a pair of giant scissor things. Anybody have any sure fire homebrew trail making tips?

I was honestly thinking about it. Shouldnt be too pricey, and my buddy can bulldoze like nobodys business so maybe he could drive it.
