Did you inspect the shift forks good. One bent? Shiny areas on only one side of fork tip? Try marking case were nuetral is locked in by the roller.then remove roller and you can turn shift star by hand. Each deep spot on star roughly lined up with the mark should be in a gear.you can feel what's going on better imo
