Carb Prob

I have an 89 Blaster with stock carb, UNI pod filter, FMF SST exhuast system on which they recommend using a 260 main jet and the quad will idle fine, but when i give it any throttle at all it dies. It also backfired at the tailpipe after idling for a few minutes. Can anyone help ???

you are lean. I would try 270- 280

sounds like not enough gas while throttling but it floods while idling. try a bigger jet. i would try a 290

290 sounds like a bit to much, like scot said, go for a 270-280

I have a 2001 blaster when I try to start it I have to put the choke on to keep it iddling and if I want to bring it into second gear I push the choke in but it doesn't go full throttle I an only go about 1/2 throttle if I go ful she bogs down, and she backfires a lot when I try to ,need help now before winter

Test for air leaks, clean the carb, maybe inspect the reeds.

Big blaster, you may need to adjust the idle setting.
