Carb issues?

So i have a freshly rebuilt blaster with a 67.5mm bore,
i have a brand new mikuni vm26 so i am not using the TORS system

currently i have a 280 main jet and i'm at 1200ft alt. and stock exhaust

i have to leave the choke on for the bike to start and to rev it at all.
with the choke off it might idle but the second you hit the throttle it bogs and dies'

it passed the compression test

where should i go from here

A 280 main jet is too rich for a stock exhaust, stock main jet for stock pipe and airbox with lid on is 230
add 1-2 sizes for airbox lid off and/or mixed fuel versus injection, plug chops to confirm main jetting .... https://www.blasterforum.com/threads/how-to-plug-chop.53237/
but the main has nothing to do with starting and idle, that's all pilot jet and airscrew settings

have you unplugged to the TORS box ? (88-02) or done the delete & wiring connections for 03+ blaster ?
float height correct ?
reeds good ?
new B8ES plug ?
needle clip in middle position ?
stock 32.5 pilot ?
airscrew around 1.5 turns out to start tuning it ?
