With its 16-cylinder four-wheel drive, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4*) may well be the most sophisticated production vehicle of all times.
Most of the components tucked beneath its hood are ingenious innovations that were formerly only deemed possible by visionaries like Ferdinand Piëch.

Boasting a maximum speed of more than 400 km per hour, the Veyron is unmatched in the super sports category. It offers a total of 736 kW (1,001 HP), and its ample power reserves even at high speeds are the fabric of dreams for luxury-class limousines: for a constant speed of 250 km/h, the Veyron only needs 270-280 HP. This means that the seven-gear clutch transmission works with a torque of up to 1,250 Newton meters. The Electronic Stability Program ensures the necessary flexibility and maneuverability at any speed. The Veyron reaches velocities that would literally lift the car off the ground – if it weren’t for its ingenious aerodynamics, which keeps it firmly on the road even at full speed. Adjusting the back spoiler, reducing ground clearance, opening and closing the lids – it all adds to the perfect balance between propulsion and downforce. Such a super sports car may not seem to be brought to a halt easily, but the Veyron’s ceramic brakes slow it down faster than it can accelerate. While it takes this exceptional car only 2.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h, it needs even less time – a mere 2.3 seconds – to come to a standstill from 100 (reference point). To reduce the risk of injuries in accidents, Bugatti had a Formula 1 safety concept adapted for the Veyron. All these technical details combine to make the Veyron a truly exceptional super sports car.

That is the old one. The new one is 1200 hp and like 1.8 million dollars. Here it is.
Today, Bugatti officially released the new Veyron 16.4 Super Sport version, the latest model to join the Veyron lineup. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 SuperSport comes with an astonishing 1200 hp (882 kW) and a limited speed of 415 km/h (in order to protect the tyres).

There are some new addition in comparison with the current Veyron, such as the 7 speeds twin clutch gearbox, 4 turbochargers and improved intercoolers that will boost engine’s power and keep you safe at incredible speeds. The car’s body was also slightly modified in order to be lighter, Bugatti made a new fibre structure of the all-carbon monocoque.

As usual, the new model is limited-edition, only 30 units will be made. The car will make its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours in August.

There’s even more, the first 5 units will be known as the World Record Edition because the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport achieved a new record for production cars by having an average speed of 431 km/h.

For that money, I could have a garage full of worked cars that would be more than suitable.

For ~50K you can get a low mileage 911/996 Porsche Turbo. For another 20K, you can have a car that will completely maul anything it meets.

For ~100K you can get a Gallardo. Everyone knows what a built, twin turbo Lamborghini is capable of. Another 35K and its yours.

For ~ 7-12K you can pick up a FD3S (RX7) roller. Hinson Supercars can fab a subframe, and make you an LS1/LS6 swap pushing 800RWHP. My built 13BREW made over 470 and was frightening to drive.

Or hell... you can have all three of those, a handful of houses and a lifetime supply of Four Loko for the price of the Bugatti. I'll take that over the Bug any day. Badass car no doubt, but even if money was no issue I just don't think I'd get one.

If I had one it would be rockin a VW symbol, because thats all it is in my eyes. I would rather buy a fleet of Golf TDI's and GTI's for that price, and maybe a one of the new twin turbo ford 150's coming out.

No need to put a LS1/LS6 in it, you could put a 4 rotor in it and it would haul ass, like Mazda Furai, or the Mazda 787B, or this RX-7

Alot of sheik's over seas are buying them just because they can, that seems to be the most common reason people buy them

How bout some american muscle... not a super car but a sedan that really kicks some ass...

Then after a trip to hennessey performance it comes back at 700hp this video is a 1/4 mile run and the car trips the on-star crash emergency off the line...

No argument there. 787B is a beast. A have a few friends with 3-Rotors and they are UNgodly fast.

I mentioned the American motors simply for reliability/power factor.

I do miss my RX7's.. hard to find one now that some F&F moron hasn't molested... :(
