Broken Cases......NOT!!!!!!

Here's a few pics of a case repair I did for my bud Ricky in Mississippi. The boss on the case for the clutch actuator was broken off. It's a shame but there's a ton of usable cases out there that have the same problem. Why not repair them? The other problem was that at some point the chain smashed into the cases and broke the area where the stator and the cases meet. This is what I came up with. I built a new plate for the clutch and used JB weld on the side of the case.

Looks good. I think that people just buy new cases instead of fixing them because there pretty plentiful and relatively cheap. Wait a few more years and they'll be like the 250r cases, hard to find and really expensive if you can find them
 
really likin the plate, but i've seen jb weld melt on my buddies quadracer side case, i prefer "quicksteel" epoxy putty nowadays, gets hard as steel in like 10 minutes and can be drilled and tapped
