What is the best way to paint shocks without painting the inside shock part, just the springs? If I put a paper towel in it, it leaves white marks on the inside of the spring. What's the best way to paint these?? Thanks..

It's not super hard but can be frustrating at times to get the spring off. Do you know how? If you take the spring off it makes for a mighty fine paint job, but like scotj77 masking tape is great. Just thought i'd add my .02.

You could take the spring off and paint it up and polish some inside and make it look like new.

the way i painted my banshee one was.
first, used a wire wheel to clean off the rust.
second, used 1" thick tape on the bodies to cover them, then used a paper towel around the shaft and tape the ends down. once i thought that everything was covered, i painted them.
third, i cleared them
forth, i sold them to blasterdude14 who sold them to another member.
