i'll have to try to time it sometimeI think I'm going to look into that shearer. What's with this timing advance? I'd like to do motor work. Whats with this timing advance?

well, running the right pipe and getting the right p&p w/ headwork and getting your timing and jetting exact are the best ways to maximize the juice out of your stock cylinder.
if you look in the diy section you'll find a how to on advancing your timing. basically, you're making your spark plug ignite just a smurf hair sooner in the stroke. this makes for stronger mid range power and a little bit better bottom end. it's pretty easy to do, you just need a flywheel puller and it helps if you've got a flywheel/clutch holder tool.
