Adjusting A-Arms?

Do they point in too much or out too much??

First, take two rachet straps, get them around the handle bars and down to the pegs or the heel guards and make it so that the handle bars are held perfectly straight. Then, loosen the nuts, one on either end of each tie rod. Then vice grip the center of the tie rod and turn to lengthen or shorten.

To align it correctly, measure halfway up the wheel and mark it on the inside, front and back. Now, measure from the inside of the wheel on the front and the back. You want the distance in the rear to be roughly 1/8-1/16" more than the one in the front. If you have trouble measuring from the wheel, it's too banged up, etc, you can strap a 2x4 to the outside of the wheel, make sure it's flush with the wheel, horizontal, and that they're both at the same height on either side. Measure from these 2x4s (have to be horizontal or it won't work) and do the same thing in terms of larger measurement in the rear. The slight toe in keeps a pre-load on the steering so that it doesn't wobble and make it so that you track straight instead of wondering all over the place at speed.
