hey im looking to get a little more acceleration outta my blaster. does going from a 40t to a 42t rear sprocket make a considerable difference?

thanks

it will make some but you would be better off to go down a size in the front. one size in the front = 3 in the rear. or you could consider changing your rear tires (if you have 20s) to 18s. but yeah grab a 12t up front and thatll make you feel the pull

ok. now i know when i get a new sprocket i have to replace the chain and the other sprocket, but can i use the same size chain as the one i have now if i get a different size sprocket?

the smaller front sprocket will mean your chain will have to be a little shorter.. just one thats to long and knock some links off it till its tight... make sure to adjust the chain tensioners all the way to the loosest setting

What size tire are you running in the rear? 13/42 might be ok with a 20 or 21 inch tire, but I woudn't recommend it for 18 inch tires. I ran that for a short period, but it was all torque and low speed. plus it made shifting a bit close thru the gears. Before you knew it you were in 5th.
