Are you talking about when you shift down to neutral from second and your foot says neutral and then you dump the clutch and it dies, Or when you shift down to first and it hits 1st but dont seem right and you can keep kickin it down into 1st three or four times before it ratchets in?

I thought it was suppose to do both. Maybe i was wrong. I want a real neutral not a false one

I thought you were supposed to leave one of the tops on one of the stars (cant remmember, before or after) so you can go 1st.2nd.3rd.4th.5th.6th but when your downshifting its easyier to find neutral??

Time for a poll. would you rather;,...

A find neutral downshifting

B find neutral upshifting

i never try to get neutral from second. i just bump to first then ease up while rocking it back and forth. dont usually have a problem

I was wondering how far to bring them down. I may bring them down a bit more... Thanks!!!

i always find neutral easy, then sometimes when i don't wanna when shifting from 1st to 2nd, haha, i can easily get the 2nd to neutral shift on mine

This mod is for a smoother shift from gear to gear... NOT for getting to neutral easier.. look at my pic, do you see the short point on the star with the radius... That is the neutral position on the shift star, and rounding off the 5 other points dont help you get on it easier.. The 6 low spots on the shift star are the positions for the 6 gears and rounding of the points just makes it easier to get the shift stopper lever wheel over the point on the star and to the next low spot that is the next gear position...

So then the pointy one with a inverted radius at the bottom must be neutral? used to get hung in between gears, i see six points, six valleys, six gears, but wait theres seven "gears" with neutral 1N23456
"1234567"

Wonder if you knock one of the sides off of the one at the bottom if it would make neutral easier.

Maybe instead of rounding them off like there worn out if you "shark finned" them in eather direction, made it look like a skill saw blade?,,, maybe it would help shift and keep it from getting a false neutral between fifth and sixth:-[

O well

i have a spare shift star i wanted to do this with. but since i sold my blaster its kinda pointless to modify it now.

you can deepen the groove for neutral if i remember right and it makes it easier to lock it in. and you can take way more off the tips than that. mine is rounded down to pretty close to the pegs sticking out

i rode a built shee with a modded star and hated it. kelpt shifting up and down without even knowing it (seemed sloppy), also i couldnt count the gears as easy thru trails. i like a nice sturdy pop into my gears
