What size flag pole?

Im shopping online for a flag pole but what size do I need does it matter? 5/16 or 1/4? Im in California and Im going to the sand dunes

Sometimes the place there will have them.
Are they required?
It doesn't really matter what size. IMO
But I would get the bigger one if they are about the same price.

Just do whatever size you want really.
I would go with the bigger one. JMO
But make sure it will mount to your quad...
