Vitos or Hot Rod??

Okay so my Vito's crank broke they are going to fix it at no cost to me but, it only went on a few trips. I am glad they are replacing it, but I am thinking of just getting a Hot Rod crank, I am already luck as it is the crank break did not cause more damage.

What would you do?

that's the first i've heard of a vito's crank breaking....i'd try the new one, you may have just gotten a bad one

problem with a hot rod crank is that you have to trench the cases for it

no, i have a standard stroke hot rods crank and needed no trenching, thats only for +3 or 4mm cranks
hot rods crank, hands down!!!!!

mine was 3mm.

We have not taken the crank out yet to see been busy but it will come out next week to see exactly what happened.

that sounds like the bearing rather then the crank itself...imo.

We have to take it apart. I don't know a whole lot but from what I have heard the crank would just come out if the bearing is broke, or am I wrong?

i saw this over on e2s, definately some crazy sh*t. lots of people have ran a vitos +3 for years with no issue, i think you just got a bad one. does hotrods make a 3 mill or only the 4? its the case trenching that made me go with a vitos +3.
