This is the result of my plug chop with my new Toomey pipe and 270 main jet. The temp was 60 degrees. What do you guys think? I think it is rich, thinking 1 maybe 2 sizes. she is boggy on the top end.

plug looks a little rich to me, but nothing that should be causing a serious bog.

what needle and clip setting ?
genuine mikuni 270 main jet ??
check your plug boot to plug connection, sometimes an electrical issue will act like jetting, especially at high rpm under heavy load.
try it again with another new plug

this is every angle

needle is Toomey recommended 5jfj34 on 3rd groove. air screw out 1 1/4 I asked for genuine mikuni. They told me it is but is says 270RD on the side. I bought a 250 270 290 and a 300. I looked and onlt the 300 and the 250 have the mikuni symbol on the top

throw that toomey needle out the window,
replace with the stock needle on the middle clip position.
i just put a toomey on my black blaster on friday, stock carb, head mod, open airbox with uni filter, stock needle on the middle clip position and even left the 340 main jet in it from my right bend pipe....no hesitation or bog anywhere.

that needle is your problem !

that needle was stock. I never put it in. I just checked to see what was In it.

oh ok, most others who suggest different needles/settings other than stock are incorrect, stock needle works best, whatever the # is.

aftermarket jets are not made to the same quality control as genuine mikuni and keihin jets.
the 250 is going to be too lean, toomey recommends a 310, i believe thats what they supply with their full kits that include jets and air box vents, an open airbox could require more.
i have a 340 in mine right now with no bog/hesitation at all
my best guess is a 310-320 should be about right.
