Can I do that with any cuz I have tryed that and even on my car that didn't work and on my quad it don't start if anything els is on the plug wire

Kinda reviving this thread, but do they make inductive tachometers that are a gauge? And not a digital readout? I just think it'd be cooler if it were an actual gauge.
the tach on my trailtech vapor was simple.
just wrap a wire around the plug wire and hook it up. it measured the current pulsing through rather than taking the current to know when its fireing
it also had the option for more than one engine type. a 2 stroke was set a .5 to be right. where as a 4 stroke would be 1.
i forget what it actually said, but it was something about how many times it sent a pulse per cycle

herpderp, I know just what you mean. There's like a billion of those types of tachs for sale. I've come to the conclusion that they don't make a gauge version, just a digital one. Oh, well, I guess I'll have to live with it.
