Should the spring rate be higher when going from stock length to extended A-Arms? OEM Banshee front shocks being used with +3 A arms. 200 pound rider, trail ridden quad.

The answer is, yes. Unfortunately, using stock banshee shocks your spring rate and shock valving is set.

The longer the lower control arm is, the more leverage the weight of the quad has against the shock absorbers. To maintain a given effective "spring rate" the actual spring rate of the spring would need to be higher (in order to support the weight and spring back up when they're depressed). Same thing applies to the valving of the shock absorber.

Using stock shocks (even banshee shocks) the only option is to turn up the preload and continue on. If you get aftermarket shocks, they can be tuned for your application by making the valving "tighter" and using stronger springs.
