shift drum

so i split the cases and I forgot if the shift drum can go in more than one way? I put it together and it seems rough to shift through the gears and its real hard to get in to any thing past fourth gear. Did I mess something up? I put all the shift forks in and it seemed that everything was ok, is there a way that the drum has to be clocked? Thanks

how bout you check to see if you put the shift forks in the right way? Double check in the book to see which way they go.
