I've seen it used on about anything that required a gasket in a 2 stroke including a case sealer.
IMO it's a half azzed way to do a job that a gasket is for. I'm referring to side covers which is the only place it can be used in a smoker.
All other areas are asking for trouble, maybe not now but down the road.
Buy yamaha bond or my personal favorite 3 bond for a case sealer and buy gaskets everywhere else they belong.
Gasket adhesive/sealers on gaskets are fine as long as they are gas/oil/heat resistant.
In fact I use the permatex red gasket adhesive/sealer for all my intake gaskets with no problems for years.
