I just ordered the oil block off plate does this need a gasket? i saw a kit which showed a gasket but i ordered off ebay and i didn't see this one having it.

Yes you need a gasket, If kit don't come with it a little RTV will do but let it dry a day before YOU GET ON AND RIP IT!
A little thin card, a craft knife, or a pair of scissors, some deft fingers and a smidgin of time make a gasket.

some copper gasket maker will work fine . but as slick said , don't ride on it for 24 hours . it needs to cure . the gaskets from yamaha are about a buck , no big deal to go and get one . but still use sealer on it for best results
