primary drive nut

cant figure out which direction to turn the primary drive nut to un loosen it. does it have reverse threads? any help would be much appreciated thanks!

Which primary drive nut? All the nuts I can think of are regular, right-hand thread.

right side nut that holds the crank gear. need to replace crank seals.

Definitely right-hand, normal thread. I just had one off last night. An impact wrench is a wonderful thing.

ya i wish i had one. right now im using a long breaker bar.

That's a biotch to hold on to. You could try sticking a dowel or hammer handle into the exhaust port to lock up the piston. Never tried it but it shouldn't damage anything. Otherwise you have to hold that gear in place somehow.

ive heard of sticking a penny in the gears to hold it.......gotta love impact wrenches

I ended up heating it with a torch a couple of times with an impact wrench to get mine loose. I didn't trust using a penny since they don't make them out of copper, just copper coated.
