Re-assembling carb. I can't remember which way the that the anchor/receptacle for the throttle cable that screws in to the slide should line up when it goes on. With the third non-threaded hole in the slide left exposed....or covered up by the bolted down throttle cable anchor/receptacle? It will go on either way. Once again, impossible to tell from the schematic or the pics in the shop manual.

i've always covered that hole, but just recently read thats wrong, it needs to leave the matching hole open

Where did you read that?

i wish i could remember, but know that i did.
i see/feel no ill effects from covering the hole ?
but why would it be there in the first place if it was meant to be covered ?

i believe it's used to equalize the pressure above/below the slide ?

Ok, sounds good to me. I'm sure there is no catistophic failure involved if I were to install it the opposite way, I'm just a stickler for details in a re-assembly situation. I was actually theorizing what use the hole would serve, equalizing pressure is better than anything I ever came up with.
Thanks man, I appreciate the help.
