light help

i recently bought this 2000 yamaha blaster, love it so far, only concern is the front light never worked, and i put a new bulb in the tail light and it burnt out within minutes, i think my stator is puting out to many amps and blowing the bulb, is there any way to regulate the output? any help would be much appreciated.

voltage regulator needs replaced. its a silver box under the hood with a blue wire on it. check ebay or maybe someone parting in for sale section

Sounds like the voltage regulator is bad. Take off your hood and the vr will be on the left if you're looking at the front of the quad. Unplug it and swap it with another.

[Blaaster]

If the bulb is blowing the voltage is to high allowing the filament do draw excessive amps. Fix is a working voltage reg.

I'd check ebay they have done me pretty well, my quad has a 24 led strip mounted to the storage/battery box
