ok I was driving around yard the other day @ slow speeds
let it stall out were i park it
a hour latter my son went to move it back in shop and said that it wouldn,t start. so went out there would fire a little but wouldn,t start
so I thought well must fouled Plug
pick 1 up this weekend and did same thang if kick it fairly hard would fire like 2 maybe 3 times but wouldn,t run
so tryed a roll down hill start I never even fired that way
so pulled plug and no spark
it will fire intermittently and only a couple times per kick
I unhooked the blak / white wire on the CDI box after looking at the wireing chart
that sould eliminate the switchs and tors system right
any Idea what / were I should start next
CDI Box , coil other!
I have my sons running Blaster to swap parts on to trouble shoot just wandering your thought,s on what it is???? and save me some time

thanks Ferris

Ok I thought by removing black / wire at cdi box that would eliminate the switchs and tors system for testing it
not sure if it still is hooked up or not theres no wires going to throttle lever box bit there is to the carb??
so not sure what the guy did before me??

Kinda what happened to me but i didnt get a chance to look at it yet.

Just follow that link. It's really simple on the 02 and older models. Report the results and we will go from there.

Ok I checked no tors box and everthings removed acording to post on here
Changed coil out with My sons did same thing
so changed cdi with my sons and still no differance
checked the coil under the fylwheel using my ohm meter and there within Yamaha specs
but now I wandering if Problems in the reeds and not the ignition
cause heres what it does
if I hold it WOT it will try and start
if I leave it @ idle it will not fire @ all
also there was smoke coming back threw air cleaner when it fired
could it be a reed gone bad ?
