How do you get the 2 stator screws out?

Hi,

I have an impact driver and a corded impact driver drill. I cannot seem to break the stator screws loose to remove them. Any secrets to getting those buggers out?

I have begun to strip out the top one so I'm a little paranoid about ruining them to the point where I'd have to cut them off and split the cases to remove them. Any suggestions?

For some reason, Yamaha stator screws and plates are my nemesis. I have a PW80 with a fused stator plate in the case I've not been able to remove yet either.

A chemical reaction occurs between the steel screws and aluminum case. It makes a whitish powder that's almost like lock Tite.
Therefore heat will be you friend. Alternate between heating the case or screw several times. A little PB Blaster won't hurt. Don't get crazy with the heat.

an Impact screwdriver is 99% a must to get any of the phillips screws out on the cases
