I wasn't sure if this should go into the Rebuild section or Motor swap section. Picked up this blaster frame for $100. almost everything is there it is a 1999 frame. No motor, good plastics, good thumb throttle, clutch lever, brake lever yada, yada, yada.

First day I brought it home...

Got it home, stripped it down

had to fix up the right foot peg. Had some sharp pieces sticking out and didn't move smooth

Stripped all the way down so I can get new bolts

Painted up the rear where I wouldn't be doing any modifications.

Frame has been put back together but not welded yet.

I'm not sure, I just joined the site and was looking fo help with parts I was missing and ten decided to let you guys and gals see what I was doing.


I'm waiting for more material to come home so I've been messing around with some smaller projects for this bike.

These are the ghetto nerfs I'm working on. They don't looks so good yet but once done, they should be good looking and functional.

Oh and here it is with the seat on... When the throttle bodies are on the motor AND the air box is on the motor, it takes place of the old gas tank. i'm going to fab up a fuel cell and probably mount it under the seat.

Don't mean to put these machines down but when owning a blaster, after the year I would have to rebuild the motor. And If you have the parts to do a cool swap, why not!

check out the framework/motor mounts in this dudes zx/banshee swap, he's got some good ideas for fabbing motor mounts !!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I think this is gonna to be a killer mod! I just was like .....HUH? at first.

mmm - fast yes, but heavy! i wouldnt like to take on some tight twisties and through some muddy river crossing.

Are you going to extend the swingarm at all? i think it would be wise
