I am coming to the experts on this one. I have a odd rattle that sounds like its coming from the left side of the motor.
I can only hear it at low RPM's
The sound goes away immediately when I pull the clutch in.
Sitting still and revving the engine will not produce the sound.
Rolling along at any speed with the clutch in will not produce it either.
I cannot hear it while accelerating. It might me there but I cant hear it.
So far I have pulled the stator cover. The bolt is tight and there is no play on the magneto.
I have pulled the clutch cover and inspected the counterbalance gear, clutch basket, and checked everything in there and haven't found anything loose, worn, or out of the ordinary.
I just had the top end done less than 10 hrs ago and my wife never heard the sound till I pointed it out to her. It has never made the sound till now.
Its a 2000 and we bought it off the dealership floor.
Premix 40:1 and it never gets ridden hard.....
