I am having my cylinder ported my ken, along with my head machined by ken. I also have a full FMF exhaust which will be replaced by a F7 pipe because right bends are awesome! (or so I have heard) Do I need to bump up carb sizes? If so what size, and what kind? Thanks guys!

the 34mm pj is going to be as big as you want to go on that sort of setup IMO.

my setup is really similar, minus porting done by a different builder, the oko30mm is torquey as hell, It does seem like it runs out of breath a little bit on the top end. I'm going to get either a 34pj or 33pwk to try out on the setup and see how it does in comparison.

I think the 33pwk would be the hot setup on something like that. getting a pj tuned correctly isn't for the feint of heart

wouldn't it make sense to ask the guy building the engine? i'm assuming the engine builder knows your changing pipes right? everything you have for the engine mods wise the buuilder needs to know for when he sets up the port timing. and if you ask i'm sure he'll tell you his opinion of those parts and if they work toward the "total package" that is your end result.

Very good point, I will give ken a call and seen what advice he has to offer up.

Ya don't really NEED a bigger carb, the motor will run decent with stock, but will run even better with a larger bore carb! You will get more out of all that motor work if you step up to a 30-34mm.

I gave ken a call and he said he runs 34mm Mikuni carbs on his bikes. He also said the Keygen 35mm Air striker carb is good. I asked him about the link awk sent me for the TRX250r carb and he said that would work great. I am going to give that one a shot and if it doesn't work out I will shoot for any of the other carbs he recommended.

i cant wait to order my new carb so i can really wake up my port work, i actually saw the one your bidding on last night but decided to hold off until i have enough money for the bigger intake boot etc... good luck on the auction

thanks for not bidding against me! I would rather you have it then bid against ya.

If you dont win that carb i have the identical carb that ken runs i was going to run it but went to the pwk35 instead depending on which way the banshee build goes and what i can a second one for i may let it go.
