Ive got an extra fan from a ZX7 i parted out. Thinking about mounting it right here to help cool engine. I wont be running lights, so this will be only power draw from stator. I know stock stator puts out 55w of power. Should be more than enough for this fan. I can either A. Put a full body skid plate or B. Put some mesh under frame to help keep mud out of fan.

The way i look at it is: Since i wont have that stator running anything, i might as well put it to use. And a little extra air flow cant hurt it right?!

Will that fan run on the Blasters AC supply?

Also would the upward air deflect the air that normally passes through the fins upward impeding the air flow.

I am trying to say would it blow the cooling air stream away, leaving a poor airflow over the rear of the motor.

Hey man, i have no idea about AC DC stuff. Fan came off a streetbike, so maybe it will? Idk. I think while riding, the airflow will overpower this fan. But sitting at idle or going slower through trails this fan would give more airflow to engine. This is all something i can test out while riding. Engine temp while riding with/without fan.

Top marks for experimenting, let us know the findings.

Street bikes are usually DC powered, you may need a rectifier to run the fan, use a full wave bridge type, as a single diode will cut the voltage back by a quarter.

Will do. Ill goto radioshack n see what they carry.

Banshee axle just thrown together to get an idea of how wide. I think i might want to go with an inch or two spacers.

Parts im waiting for to come in mail:

Crank / top end from Ken
Vf3 reeds
34mm Intake
Motion pro twist throttle
Chain guide

Got the front all mounted and done. I flipped the rims. There width is exactly the same as a banshee axle. I dont think im too happy with it. Maybe 1-2" spacers will be needed.

Here's some pics, with some updates on whats been done.

Front end back together, also got handlebars squared away and tightend down.

Started prep on clutch cover. Decided to sand it and paint, why put 900$ into an engine and have it look subpar?

Im going to use these rims and tires for winter use since im gonna stud these tires. Ill be buying new rims / tires of summer. Any suggestions on polished rims for blaster?

Reason for right side nerf bar not on or peg painted is because after bike is together and rolling im going to take it to work and weld the bracket onto brake for my hydro set up.

Update:

Motion pro twist throttle, came with free grips too!

Reason for twist throttle: 9-3-07 on my daughters B-day, i blew my thumb off with a mortar (Firework in tube). Fuse went extremely fast, took thumb off. They re-attached it, but i have no feeling in it, and its extremely hard for me to use thumb throttle.

Whats next on the to do list???

Oh nice working space by the way!

Putting engine together is next. Started lastnight, hit a snag with putting crank in. Bearing either didnt get hot enough or it cooled too fast and crank only went in halfway. I made a crank puller at work, ill post pics up tonight.
