Cylinder Porting DIY

Hey Ken, that's a great thing your doing. It might maybe take some of the mystery out of it, for me at least...or not, as I'm darn sure it's more difficult than it looks, like most skills.

LOL, I can see one problem: In a month or so, there's going to be a bunch of Blasters for sale with "new bore and piston, custom ported, runs strong, just needs tuning and some carb work"...if ya get what I mean. I:I

***I apologize for getting in the middle of your little spat guys. I didn't mean to post a comment that was on topic**

That's cool as heck. Ken knows I have 2 extra cylinders I asked him about, so I can afford to screw one up, but now I'll wait to send them out (not in the budget right now anyway) and try it myself on one of them.

You know someone is a stand-up guy if they are willing to take potential money out of their pocket and put it right back in yours. TIA Ken!

Sounds like that's exactly what you're doing!

Do you really believe O-Conner doesn't understand rod length? Come on....
Look at the bright side, your builder buddies can sell more Vito's jugs to all of us that screw up our cylinders. :)

lmao, good call otis I:I

cool i wanna see the vid too! i had cleaned up my brother in laws cylinder but didnt touch the port timing. Not to bad with a dremmel just dont sneeze and buy a bit set. I liked the small 1/8 and 1/4 carbide bits then the medium cone to smooth... It can be done and props to you for showing these guys how to do it.I:I

OK. No one is bashing anyone and I really want to keep this thread on track. On a side note, no one is going to screw up a cylinder. I shot the first part today and the only way anyone is going to screw up is if they DON'T FOLLOW DIRECTIONS! Please keep this thread on track.
Thanks

Uhh....?? Porting really has nothing to do with cylinder size. At least not the basic type of porting that Ken will be talking about. It could be done on a stock cylinder, or a cylinder that has been overbored.... probably just not one that has already been ported. I'm sure Ken is gonna keep it simple for us 'port newbs' so in case we do screw up, there should be a lot of meat left for someone else to be able to work with if needed.

This thread when to S$%t faster than a a nitro powered Pinto at the local 1/4 mile track. Entries are closed. The winner of the free cylinder is Blaster boy794. I read his entry and I was Impressed by his courage, attitude, and his devotion to his parents. To be honest, after I read his application, it was a waste of all of our time to drag this out for another week. This kid really deserves this and he's payin it forward. Thanks to all that entered and you all have 10% off if you ever send anything my way. As far as the porting vid, I won't post it here to be bashed and discourage future builders from taking a shot at learning something new. Just trying to help. Sorry if I piss%d anyone off. Check it out on my site if you want to see it. Mods.............Please close this thread.

Thanks to all
Ken

dude post it here...if builderes get "pissed" then thats there own issue. the site is here to teach and help us learn more. Exactly what ur doing. If the builders have an issue with that then can go in a closet find a teddy bear and cuddle and cry about it. lol

/\/\/\/\ exactly dreeds, ken, don't let a few of the other builders "puppets" discourage you from doing what you set out to do
post that up, or i'm sending your name to ashton kutcher for an episode of punk'd, hahahaaaa
