I am cleaning the plastics for my kids blaster rebuilds and these things have been sitting around in the previous owners yard for a loooong time. The plastics almost look like they have mildew stains that just don't wanna come off. I decided to try some 400 grit wet/dry sand paper with a bit of soap and it worked great. Super easy removing that stubborn top layer without making any deep scratches. I will go over the plastics again with 800 and 1000 to polish it up but figured I would post what I did on here. Its pretty easy to see what has been sanded and what has not.

This is the same technique used to restore faded fiberglass on a boat, which I did to a 84 Ranger two years ago.

Thanks for the post. I'm about to do same exact thing on some extra white plastics i have.. did you do them by hand?
