I just picked one of these up to keep me legal on my upcoming trip to Coos Bay. It's not the newest version but it's less than half price shipped, the seller has one left.

no they don't require it, they just require you to be under a certain db level

i was going 38 mph on the beach and the limit is 25, and you have to be 16 or older to ride alone and I was riding with my friends kid who is under 16 so his dad got dinged for that, then yes they weren't happy we had no riding cards, in the end all that one of my dads friends got was a ticket for 160 bones for letting his kid ride alone, that riding card is stupid though
