carb question

i want to upgrade the carb on my blaster, my friend has several carbs to choose from but im not sure what happens with that sh!t on the top of the carb that has the wires going into it. do you just cut the plug off and join the wires together or is it more technical than that?

sorry if this is realy simple but its the first time ive tweaked with bike engines

it is called the TORS, use the search on how to remove it.
