Hi guys im new here but not new to fourms or BLASTERSI:I well heres the story i picked up a 1996 yamaha blaster yesterday the guy i bought it from said it needed a pickup coil in the stator. I had a extra 1993 blaster at my house for parts and it ran so i know the eletrical is good. i replaced the old stator with the one of of my 1993 parts blaster. I allso replaced all eletrical boxes with the ones off of my 1993 parts blaster eccept the TORS box. After that i put a spark tester on the ignition wire and it lights faintly but if i touch it i feel nothing. finally i put all of the original boxes from the 1996 blaster back on it including the bad stator and it still lights up faintly. This blaster is equipped with a throttle overide system (TORS) that shuts off the engine if it gets stuck wide open. i unplugged this and still no spark but the tester lights up but only about a quarter as bright as it is on my friends 2006 blaster. Can Any one help me out?
