Black grainy thing where reeds go

Hello, I just took my reeds off and noticed a black grainy thing where the reeds go. The reeds have a small crack in them and the old spark plug had the same black stuff. Anyone know what it is?

What's your compression at?
I think it's from ring seal.
Need new Reeds though

That's only over spray from the factory.
