just picked up a 99 blaster, my first quad. i believe it has a extended swingarm. the brake caliper doesnt reach the mounting bracket very easy. also the brake pads are too close together they wont go over the rotor. so how can i get the pads to back off? any ideas?

Are these the stock cable brakes? If so and your swingarm is extended you may need a longer brake cable. They make a cable for the extended swingarms.

The pads can be adjusted out by removing the cover with three allen heads and backing off the self adjuster with a regular screw driver. once it is open you should be able to push the one pad back into the housing, as the other pad is stationary.

Myself I would use the twenty bucks towards the purchase of Awk's rear brake setup.
