So recently I rebuilt my engine and now I'm having issues with it running. I modded the head on a lathe and installed the head. It ran for a minute down the road then started to bog. after a few minutes it died. I restart and all it does is sputters and backfires. I know for sure there are no air leaks. I check my reeds thinking i broke one and they are fine. It back fired so bad it blew off my exhaust off the flange and the silencer off the head pipe. not sure how, but it did. Any ideas?

A couple of reasons why a motor backfires are a lean mixture and a spark at the wrong time.

Explosions in the exhaust system are caused by a build up of volatile gases which ignite when the conditions are right.

I have witnesses an exhaust completely blown apart from a massive backfire.

It may pay to see if the woodruff key in the flywheel is not sheared.

Ok so i put a different key into the blaster. And same problem. thanks for the help i think i'm just parting out its too much of a money bucket.
